Planning Permission in Greenbelt - Case Study

Our customer was looking to improve their home by adding significant extensions to the property, which was situated in green belt land. They required a strong case in order to receive planning permission for the changes to go ahead, so they decided to use our modelling skills to show how the changes would have minimal impact on the surrounding countryside and neighbouring houses.

The project involved us working closely with the client to ensure precise details were incorporated due to the impact it would have on planning permission for the work.

Using the plans of the proposed work, which were provided by the client, as well as pictures of the existing house, we were able to clearly demonstrate that the proposed extension conformed to the appropriate guidelines. The resulting images and fly through that we created also helped the client to visualise how the project would look on a aesthetics level.

We began with the pictures of the property in its current state and added the new designs using the plans provided. Our clients were able to preview our work during development with the static images that we provided. Once the images were rendered, we were able to create a fly through that gave the clients and planning officials a clear perception of how the finalised extension work would appear.

The fly through clearly shows the extension to the front, side and rear of the house. It also gives any viewer a clear idea of the scale of the work and an understanding of perspective, due to the continuous nature of the film, rather than a collection of individual images. Planning permission was given for the work and the extensions have since been added.
